1. Reservations and Payments
1.1. All reservations are confirmed upon payment of a non-refundable deposit, equivalent to the percentage established at the time of booking.
1.2. The remaining balance must be paid by the date and in the manner indicated in the booking confirmation.
1.3. Payments are accepted in U.S. dollars (USD) or Peruvian soles (PEN), at the current exchange rate.
1.4. The client is responsible for covering transfer costs, bank fees, or charges from electronic payment methods.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
2.1. In case of cancellation by the client, the following policies apply:
- Cancellations more than 30 days before the start of the tour: partial refund, deducting the initial deposit and administrative fees.
- Cancellations between 29 and 15 days before the start of the tour: 50% refund of the total amount.
- Cancellations less than 15 days before the start of the tour: no refund.
2.2. Some services, such as train tickets, Machu Picchu entrance tickets, or domestic flights, are subject to specific supplier policies and are non-refundable.
2.3. In case of cancellation due to force majeure (strikes, natural phenomena, site closures, government regulations, among others), Montalvo Travels Peru is not responsible for refunds; however, we will seek alternatives to reschedule or modify the service.
3. Changes to Reservations
3.1. Any modification requested by the client is subject to availability and applicable additional charges.
3.2. Montalvo Travels Peru reserves the right to modify itineraries for safety reasons, weather conditions, or other external factors that may affect the normal development of the trip.
4. Client Responsibilities
4.1. Carry a valid passport, visas, and permits necessary for entry and stay in Peru.
4.2. Inform in advance of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs.
4.3. Follow the instructions of the guide and authorized staff during contracted activities.
4.4. Maintain respectful behavior towards the group, local communities, cultural heritage, and the environment.
5. Responsibilities of Montalvo Travels Peru
5.1. Provide the contracted services in accordance with the established itineraries, except in cases of force majeure.
5.2. Guarantee the accompaniment of certified professional guides and trained staff.
5.3. Select providers (accommodation, transport, meals) that meet quality and safety standards.
5.4. Provide reasonable assistance in case of emergencies, accidents, or inconveniences during the trip.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1. Montalvo Travels Peru is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings, documents, money, or valuables during the trip.
6.2. We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or modifications of air, rail, or ground transportation services not operated by the agency.
6.3. Participation in adventure activities (trekking, high-altitude hiking, rafting, cycling, among others) involves inherent risks. The client voluntarily accepts these conditions and releases Montalvo Travels Peru from liabilities arising from accidents or damages not caused by proven negligence of the company.
7. Travel Insurance
7.1. We strongly recommend that all clients purchase international travel insurance covering accidents, medical expenses, lost luggage, and cancellations.
7.2. Montalvo Travels Peru does not cover medical expenses or compensation in case of health emergencies or accidents.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, promotional materials, and documents provided to the client are the property of Montalvo Travels Peru. Their total or partial reproduction without express authorization is prohibited.
9. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. In case of disputes, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the city of Cusco.
