What to expect
On the Via Ferrata Cusco experience, you can expect an adventure full of thrills, where you will combine climbing, contact with the rock, and stunning natural scenery. After a private transfer from Cusco to Pachar, you will receive a detailed safety briefing and instructions from your professional guide. Equipped with the proper gear (harness, helmet, gloves, and via ferrata set), you will begin an ascent lasting 3 to 4 hours depending on the group’s pace. As you climb, you’ll feel the adrenaline of being suspended on the rock, balanced with the confidence of secure safety systems. The reward is a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley and the personal satisfaction of conquering one of the most authentic adventure experiences in the Andes.
Itinerary
Day 1
Cusco – Sacred Valley (Pachar)**
09:00 a.m. Departure from Cusco in private transport toward Pachar in the Sacred Valley.
Upon arrival, your professional guide will provide a 30-minute safety talk and recommendations for the ascent.
We will then start the Via Ferrata climb, which will take 3 to 4 hours depending on the group’s pace. Along the way, you’ll enjoy incredible mountain views, rock formations, and the lush green Sacred Valley stretching below.
It is recommended to carry a warm jacket in a light backpack since temperatures decrease as we ascend. At the end of the activity, we will return to Cusco in our private transport.

1. Do I need previous climbing experience to do the Via Ferrata?
No, it’s not necessary. The Via Ferrata is designed for beginners and adventure enthusiasts, although good physical condition and no extreme fear of heights are recommended.
2. How safe is this activity?
It is very safe. The entire route is secured with steel cables, fixed steps, and a double-anchoring system, in addition to certified equipment and guidance from a professional instructor.
3. What should I bring for the tour?
We recommend comfortable sportswear, a light jacket, trekking shoes or sneakers with good traction, sunscreen, personal water, and a small backpack.
4. Can this activity be done all year round?
Yes, it can be done year-round. However, during the rainy season (November to March) the rock may be wetter, so extra caution is advised.
5. Is the Via Ferrata suitable for children or older adults?
It is mainly recommended for youth and adults. Children over 12 years old with good physical condition can participate accompanied by an adult. Older adults can also join, provided they are in good health and have medical authorization.
